National Jute Day was celebrated in Patuakhali by district administration and jute directorate under the theme “Contribution of jute industry to build smart Bangladesh”. On the occasion of this day, Monday, March 6, around 9:30 am, a colorful rally started from Sonali Bank intersection of Patuakhali and went round various roads and ended at the office of the District Commissioner. Later, a discussion meeting was held in the District Commissioner’s conference room. Md. Shariful Islam, Deputy Commissioner, Patuakhali spoke as the chief guest in the meeting under the chairmanship of Sheikh Abdullah Shadid, Additional District Commissioner (General) of Patuakhali, Deputy Director of Agriculture Extension Department of Patuakhali, Md. Nazrul Islam, Additional Police spoke as a special guest. Super Md. Sajedul Islam, Madaripur District Jute Development Officer and Attached Patuakhali District Md. Alamgir Hossain, Patuakhali Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Md. Gias Uddin and Patuakhali District Press Club President Md. Anwar Hossain. Jute Day rally and discussion meeting of various levels of district administration. A group of officials, employees, Sudheejan and journalists were present.
