Since its inception, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has been playing a leading role in bringing all types of criminals under the law to maintain the overall law and order situation of the country. RAB has been conducting regular operations against militants, terrorists, organized criminals, armed criminals, robbers and narcotics. RAB has continued its anti-narcotics campaign to eradicate drugs with the slogan “Let’s go to war, against drugs”.
In continuation of this, on 24th March 2023, based on secret information, a raiding team of RAB-10 conducted an operation in Kajlarpar area under Jatrabari police station of the capital Dhaka and arrested 02 people with 40 (forty) kg of ganja worth approximately Tk 18,00,000/- (Eighteen Lakhs). The drug dealer was arrested. Name of arrested persons 1. Md. Mahabub Alam (20) and 2. He is said to be Md. Sujan (36). Meanwhile, 01 pickup used for transporting drugs and 02 mobile phones and cash- 800/- (eight hundred) taka were recovered from them.
Besides, yesterday on March 23, 2023, a raiding party of RAB-10 conducted another operation in Dania area under Jatrabari police station of the capital Dhaka and seized 62 (sixty two) bottles of Phencidil worth approximately Tk. The drug dealer was arrested. The arrested person has been identified as Sabuj (38). Meanwhile, 01 motorcycle used for transporting drugs and 01 mobile phone and cash- 23,610/- (twenty three thousand six hundred ten) were recovered from him. Preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested persons are professional drug dealers. For quite some time, they had been collecting ganja and phensidyl and other narcotics from different border areas of the country and supplying them to different areas of the country including Jatrabari. A separate drug case has been registered against the arrested persons in the concerned police station.
