Since its inception, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has been playing a leading role in bringing all types of criminals under the law to maintain the overall law and order situation of the country. RAB has been conducting regular operations against militants, terrorists, organized criminals, armed criminals, robbers and narcotics. RAB has continued its anti-narcotics drive to eliminate drugs with the slogan “Let’s go to war, against drugs”.
In continuation of this, on 11th March 2023 AD, a raiding team of RAB-10 conducted an operation in Rayerbagh area under Jatrabari police station of the capital Dhaka on the basis of secret information and seized 02 people with 60 (sixty) kg of ganja worth approximately Tk 18,00,000/- (Eighteen Lakhs). The drug dealer was arrested. Name of arrested persons 1. Md. Dalim Hossain (37) and 2. He is said to be Md. Rashedul Islam (24). During this time, 01 pickup used for transporting drugs, 02 mobile phones and cash – cash – 3,145/- (three thousand one hundred and forty five) were recovered from them.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested persons are professional drug dealers. They have been collecting ganja and other narcotics from different border areas of the country for quite some time and supplying them to Jatrabari and surrounding areas. A drug case has been registered against the arrested persons in the concerned police station.
