Language and grammarian Professor Harlal Roy literary and cultural competition was held in Brahmanbaria. On Wednesday, March 15, at Shahid Dhirendranath Dutta Language Square at 3 pm organized by Sahitya Academy, Brahmabaria Government College, Brahmanbaria Government Women’s College, Annada Government High School, Sabera Sobhan Government Girls High School, Niaz Muhammad High School, Anandamayi Girls High School and Christian Mission Primary School. More than 100 contestants participated in Essay on Prof. Harlal Roy, Speech on Harlal Roy and Quiz on Harlal Roy. Students of Brahmanbaria Government College and Brahmanbaria Government Women’s College participated in the lecture on Harlal Roy. In the competition, the first prize of 3000 taka, the second prize of 2000 taka, the third prize of 1500 taka, valuable books and certificates were distributed. Irene Akhter, a student of Class XI of Brahmanbaria Government College, stood first in speech, Jannatul Mawa Dolan, a student of Class XI of Brahmanbaria Government Women’s College, stood second and Tasnim Akhter Liza, a student of the same college, secured third place. In the Essay Competition Saha of Anandamayi Girls High School won the first place, Tanima Jannat Pushpa of Sabera Sobhan Government Girls High School won the second place and Jannat Zafrin Noshin got the third place. Nusrat Jahan Zerin, Atiba Saha and Farzana Islam Sweety came first in the open quiz competition on Professor Harlal Roy. Advocate Manik Ratan Sharma, Vice President of Sahitya Academy, Abdur Rahim and District Safe Food Officer Md. Farhan Islam acted as judges in the competition. Chief Executive Officer of Brahmanbaria Municipality was the chief guest under the chairmanship of Sahitya Academy President Kavi Jaidul Hossain. A. Quddus, Sahitya Academy Director Advocate Abu Taher, Sahitya Academy Advisor Bir Muktijoddha Shamsuddin, newly elected General Secretary of Brahmanbaria Press Club Baharul Islam Molla, Sahitya Academy Director Farooq Ahmed Bhuiya, Brahmanbaria Journalist Union General Secretary Monir Hossain were special guests. General Secretary of Sahitya Academy Nurul Amin delivered the welcome speech on the occasion. Nusrat Jahan Bushra, Monirul Islam Shravan, Khaleda Munni, Ripon Debnath, Nusrat Jahan Zerin, Shipon Karmakar and Akalima were the collaborators in organizing the event.
