In memory of the policemen who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty, tributes were paid to the martyred members by placing wreaths at Moulvibazar District Police Lines on March 1. Moulvibazar District Superintendent Muhammad Zakaria led by Moulvibazar District Superintendent Mohammad Zakaria at the temporary monument constructed in Moulvibazar District Lines field and all those present observed one minute silence at the temporary monument. Moulvibazar District Superintendent of Police Mohammad Zakaria presided over the commemoration meeting organized at Lines Drill Shed under the direction of Additional Super Sudarshan Kumar Roy. At this time Moulvibazar District CID Special Superintendent of Police Nutan Chakma, Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Ops) Sudarshan Kumar Roy, Additional Superintendent of Police (Kulaura Circle) Dipankar Ghosh, Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police (Srimangal Circle) Md Shahidul Haque Munshi, Asst. Superintendent of Police (Tourist Police, Moulvibazar Zone) Sahidul Islam and various ranks of police officers and police members of the district. SI Kanchan Dev who was killed while on duty, Constable Iman Ali and Constable Helal Uddin handed over mementos and gifts to the families of District Police Moulvibazar. In the President’s speech, Moulvibazar District Super Mohammad Zakaria prayed for forgiveness for the souls of the policemen who sacrificed their lives while on duty. It should be noted that in Bangladesh, 121 members of different levels of police sacrificed their lives in the line of duty in 2022. Since 2017 this day (March 1) has been observed as Police Memorial Day.
