Thousands of small and large trees of various species including Bain, Keora of Parabon have been cut down indiscriminately. Bird habitat including biodiversity is being destroyed by fire. Parabon has already been occupied by the border pillars. Earlier, construction of boundary wall by cutting Paraban, construction of dam to stop tides, excavation of canal for fishing with excavators and 20,000 The company named Kingshuk Farms Limited caused extensive destruction by cutting more trees. In this situation, the local residents and conscious community expressed their concern about the destruction of biodiversity and bird habitat. Before the root of the incident happened, the adjacent Paraban was set on fire. Local residents said that the Coastal Forest Department had created Paraban around 20 years ago in the western side of the museum area of Pechhar Dwip. The area became a dense paraforest, tidal creek, biodiversity and bird habitat. The place belonged to Government No. 1 Khas Khatian. But now it is talking about registered private ownership in the settlement and there is a lot of destruction going on there. Local Harun Bin Hashem and former UP member Kamal Uddin Kamal started harvesting parabons for a long time after talking about buying from registered persons. On March 2, Paraban was permanently occupied with border pillars. After that, parabon cutting started in full swing. Last Thursday (March 9), Harun Bin Hashem personally set fire to the branches of the tree cut in Parabon by the local Jagir Hossain. Thus destruction is being carried out in Paraban. If there is a problem, we go there and see when the boundary pillars are given. Saw some parts of Parabon cut off. However, it is not known who cut it. I did not get any information about setting fire to Paraban. Khuniapalang Union Land Assistant Officer (Tahsildar) of Ramu Upazila Abshar Kamal said that I have heard about putting boundary pillars on some privately owned lands.
