Chapainawabganj in Shibganj Shahbajpur, nephew Rubel’s wrist was severed for marrying a divorced mother.
The incident took place on Tuesday (March 28, 2023) at 12:30 PM in Shahabajpur Dhobra Muslimpur area of Shibganj Upazila. Rubel was sent to Chapainawabganj 250-bed district hospital in critical condition. After that, first aid was given in the emergency department. If the condition worsened, he was shifted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for better treatment.
Shibganj Upazila Shahbazpur Union Ward No. 9 member Ismail Hossain said that the injured Rubel is the son of deceased Abdul Matiur Rahman Matin of Namochakpara village. He said, the current wife of Rubel, who lost her wrist, Emeli Khatun (25) divorced her ex-husband Babu two months ago. Then Rubel secretly married Emely Khatun. Emily’s family and her uncle Babu could not accept this. He said that the incident happened due to the local people’s opinion.
Locals said that Rubel was going to Dhobara with a trolley full of wheat. At that time, when the washermen reached the Muslimpur area, they stopped Rubel’s car, took him to a car park, severed his right wrist and fled.
In this regard, the officer in charge of Shibganj police station, OC Chowdhury Zobair Ahmed, called several times, but he did not receive the call.
