Awami League panel has won unopposed in the biennial elections of District Lawyers Association.
The Election Commission of Lalmonirhat District Lawyers Association announced the results on Thursday (09 March) afternoon. District Awami League General Secretary and District Parishad Chairman Advocate Matiar Rahman has been elected as the President of Lawyers Association. Advocate Akmal Hossain Ahmed was elected as the general secretary of the court.
Others of this committee are Vice President Advocate Kalam Azad, Associate Secretary Advocate Sariful Islam Raju, Treasurer Advocate Abdur Rashid Pradhan, Library Editor Advocate Hafizur Rahman Hafiz, Social Welfare and Cultural Secretary Advocate Nazrul Islam (2) and Awami League Central Committee Member Advocate Eight ordinary members including Safura Begum Rumi were elected.
Lalmonirhat District Lawyers Association Chief Election Commissioner Advocate Golam Mostafa said that as per the rules of the association (2023-25) when the election schedule was announced, only one panel submitted nominations to contest the election.Matiya Akmal Parishad won as there was no rival.
