5th National Voter’s Day-2023 was celebrated in Rajapur of Jhalkathi. The day is celebrated with the slogan “I will vote according to the rules, I will vote for those who are eligible”. Upazila Administration and Upazila Election Office organized this to encourage young people to become voters and to interest citizens in voting. On the occasion of the day, smart cards were distributed at 10 am on Thursday (March 2). After that, a colorful rally was taken out from the Upazila Parishad square. The procession, accompanied by musical instruments, ends at the same place after circling the main main road of the city. Later, a discussion meeting was held at the Upazila Parishad auditorium.
Upazila Parishad Chairman Principal Md Moniruzzaman was the chief guest on the occasion, Upazila Parishad Women Vice Chairman Afroza Akhter Laiju and others were special guests. Under the chairmanship of Upazila Executive Officer Farzana Bobby Mitu and conducted by Upazila Election Officer Md. Abu Yusuf, Upazila Animal Resources Officer Dr. Dinesh Chandra Majumdar, brave freedom fighter Shah Alam Nannu and other government officials and employees of various departments were also present in the event.
