 Three Indian nationals, who were arrested by BGB members while illegally entering Bangladesh through the border, returned to their country on Wednesday after serving their sentence. They were handed over to Tripura Police and BSF through Brahmanbaria’s Akhaura land port in the afternoon. The three returned Indian nationals are Ramu Devvarma, Milan Devvarma and Swapan Devvarma. All their homes are in Madhupur thana area of Sipahijala district of Tripura state, India. They were sentenced to 10 days on charges of illegal entry into Bangladesh. Swapan Chandra Das, in-charge of Akhaura landport immigration police, said that on October 8 last year, BGB members on patrol arrested the three Indian citizens from the border area of Kasba upazila of Brahmanbaria. They were detained on charges of illegally crossing the barbed wire into Bangladesh. Later, when a case of illegal trespassing was filed against them, the court sentenced each of them to 10 days imprisonment. After the imprisonment, the three Indian citizens are being discussed at the diplomatic level about sending them back to their country.
