Two young men riding a motorcycle died after being hit by a reckless covered van in Eidgaon, Cox’s Bazar. Yesterday Monday (February 13) at 7 o’clock in the morning on the way home from Eidgaon station, this incident took place in College Gate area. The dead youths are Saudi expatriate Nurul Azim (21), son of deceased Abdus Samad of Chander Ghona Katamora area of Eidgaon Union, and Delwar Hossain, son of Abul Hossain. Saidi (20). Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Eidgaon police station Md. Golam Kabir said that the body was handed over to two relatives.
Local social worker Qayyum Uddin said that in the morning Nurul Azim and Delwar Hossain Saidi were returning home by motorcycle from Eidgaon station. On reaching the college gate bridge, a covered van coming from the opposite direction recklessly rammed the motorcycle. Two people died on the spot. The local residents said that the process of burial of the body is going on based on the family’s no objection. Local journalist Michbah Uddin said that Nurul Azim and Delwar Hossain Saidi were very close neighbors. They used to meet a few times every day, walking together, going to bed, praying together. Delwar Hossain Sayedi will extend his passport to go abroad, and newly married Nurul Azim’s flight is on February 27. In the cruel irony of fate, everything ended in a moment in a tragic accident. There is a shadow of mourning everywhere in the area.
