BRTA circle inaugurated same-day driver’s license test biometric acceptance program in Chapainawabganj under the motto “BRTA’s Initiative in Building Smart Bangladesh”.
On the same occasion, District Passenger and Goods Transport Committee (RTC) and District Road Safety Committee (DRSC) meetings were organized by Chapainawabganj District Commissioner and Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA).
On Wednesday (March 29, 2023), Chapainawabganj district administration and Chapainawabganj BRTA circle organized this smart program officially in the district commissioner’s conference room, chief guest Chapainawabganj district commissioner AKM Galiv Khan.
Chapainawabganj Additional District Magistrate Asif Ahmed presided over the opening ceremony and spoke as special guests, District Additional Superintendent of Police Abul Kalam Sahid, Civil Surgeon Dr. SM Mahmudur Rashid. Chapainawabganj (BRTA) Circle Assistant Director Engine Shahzaman Haque (BRTA) Circle Motor Vehicle Inspector Salim Hasan, Mechanical Engineering Abu Huzaifa.
Among the other guests present were Traffic Inspector Anisur Rahman, District Truck and Tanklory Covered Van Workers Union President Ayub Ali, District Truck Owners Group Association President Advocate Abdus Samad Bakul, Chapainawabganj Narcotics Control Directorate Deputy Director Anisur Rahman District Bus Owners Association General Secretary Hamidur Rahman. In the opening ceremony, Chief Guest (DC) AKM Galiv Khan said that regular mobile courts will continue if illegal vehicles are plying on the highway. Leaders of transport owners groups have been urged not to charge extra fares in transport ahead of the holy month of Ramadan.
Assistant Director (BRTA) Shahzaman Haque said, due to the adoption of biometric system by the Smart Bangladesh Building (BRTA) initiative, common people will no longer have to suffer to get a driving license. The driving license test can be given and taken on the same day. He said that the motorists who come to take the services of (BRTA) will not have to suffer.
