This heat is this rain. Understanding the mind of nature is difficult now. BCB’s HP unit is going to enter the field with a bunch of young and promising cricketers in this difficult time. No problem practicing in summer. When it rains, everything is raining. Naimur Rahman Durjoy, Head of HP Unit, did not hesitate to admit that due to lack of infrastructure facilities, practice is disrupted when it rains. But he hopes for the best success despite the limitations. In the context of Bangladesh, we could not do everything (all the facilities of HP are guaranteed) because there are some gaps in our infrastructure. Like grounds, indoor, gym. We have to struggle a lot during the rainy season. There are some reasons behind this. Naimur Rahman pointed out that, “We have to do the HP program during the rainy season. Players are busy with national league, we have to play domestic cricket, BPL, DPL a lot. But we can’t do the programs at that time. Especially skill training cannot be done. It has to be done during the rainy season. For this reason we need to improve some infrastructure. Especially indoor, gym.’ The first phase of HP is divided into three parts. There will be fitness training in the first eight days. After that skill practice will be held in Rajshahi and Bogra. The month-long program started from Wednesday. The main aim of HP is to bring out the best cricketers for the national team, ‘We all know that HP’s job is to prepare players for the national team. The problems we face in the national team can be mental or technical. We don’t have to deal with those things going into the national team. These have been introduced to give the players the facilities they should get. HP hires long-term coach for first time Former Bermuda cricketer David Hemp has been appointed as the head coach. BCB has appointed him because he is planning for the long term, ‘obviously it comes from long term thinking. The longer one stays under a coach, the better they (the cricketers) understand each other. The coach’s impression of the player is good. The understanding with the coach is also good. That’s why I signed a contract with David Hemp for two years.
