The court ordered death sentence to three people in the case of murder of mother and daughter in Chapainawabganj. At the same time each of them was fined 50 thousand rupees. The convicts are Rubel, Humayan Kabir and Mahbub Alam of Kumarpara of Chapainawabganj Municipal Area. Rabiul Islam, the learned judge of Chapainawabganj Additional District and Sessions Judge announced the verdict on Monday (March 06) afternoon. Two of the convicts were present in court when the verdict was announced. Another 01 is absconding. Additional Public Prosecutor (APP) Rabiul Islam said that on the night of August 31, 2012, the accused killed Nasim Begum, wife of Nasiruddin and daughter Neela of Sub-Rajarampur Kumarpara Mohalla of Chapainawabganj Municipal Area, due to a land dispute. The next day, the police recovered the bodies of the mother and daughter and the sharp weapon used in the murder from their house. Later Nasima’s father Taimur Rahman filed a case against 06 people in Sadar police station as plaintiff. Nasima’s husband was in Saudi Arabia at the time of the murder. 01 accused died during the court case. Among the remaining 05 defendants, two were acquitted as they were not found guilty.
