A teenager named Md. Osman Gani (15) died when the truck lost control on Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway in Cox’s Bazar and rammed into the restaurant. Md Ismail (32), another young man was seriously injured. The incident took place at New Highway Restaurant and Birani House next to Harbang Petrol Pump at 7:30 am on Sunday (February 26). Md Osman Gani, who died at the scene, was an employee of that restaurant and Md Ismail, the cook of the restaurant, was seriously injured. . The deceased Osman and the injured Ismail are residents of Gyalmara village, Ward No. 8 of Harbang Union of Chakaria Upazila. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chiringa Highway Police Station Imon Kanti Chowdhury said that after receiving information about the accident, he went to the spot with the force and rescued the body of the hotel employee and the injured cook from the restaurant. Arrangements have been made to send the injured to Chittagong Medical College Hospital. He also said that the driver and helper ran away before we reached. But the truck has been impounded. Legal action is being taken in this regard.
