Allegedly, as per the rules mentioned in the tender, a third attempt should be made to lease the hut. In order to increase the revenue of the municipality, the livestock market was leased out for the third time in 2021 and 2022. But this year, after the first process, the process to get the lease to the person who submitted the tender, who is a relative of a ward council, started. Meanwhile, a person named Mostafizur Rahman has written to the mayor demanding to reconsider the lease and take necessary measures. In a written application on Monday, Mustafizur Rahman, a resident of Shimrailkandi in the municipal area, mentioned that the lease tender process is supposed to be done in three stages. Mostafizur Rahman was not given the tender when he came to buy it on Wednesday as it was supposed to be sold as per the rules. According to municipal sources, on May 16, a notice was issued for the lease of a temporary sacrificial animal market for four days on the grounds of Vadughar bus terminal under the jurisdiction of Brahmanbaria municipality (currently Vijay Mela ground). The notification states that the tender process will be completed in the first, second and third stages. It is mentioned that if the participant of the lease notification in the first stage is the highest bidder, he can submit the tender by connecting the additional pay order in the second and third stages and purchasing the new schedule. According to Sansishtha Suta, the cattle market lease was awarded after the tender process of the first, second and third stages of 2021 and 2022. In 2021, a person named Abdul Matin Bhuiyan with 57 lakh 50 thousand taka including VAT and income tax and in 2022. The Al Mamun government got the cattle market lease for Tk 66 lakh including VAT and income tax. On Wednesday, besides Mostafizur Rahman, six people named Zakir Hossain, Abdul Matin, Abdus Sattar, Abdul Hai, Jalal Mia went to the municipality in the morning to bring tenders. But when they waited till 2 o’clock, the municipal authorities did not give them the tender. Even informed that the process is completed. Abdul Hai started raving about the matter. At this time, an exciting situation arose. Later, however, Abdul Hai also expressed regret for this. Abdul Matin said, “Even after sitting for a long time, the municipal authorities did not allow the purchase of the tender.” It has been informed that the lease process has been completed on the first date of submission of tenders. It is in the law. But as far as I know the one who has been given it has submitted a tender of 70 lakh rupees. But I am willing to increase that amount by 15% to 82-83 lakhs. Mayor of Brahmanbaria Municipality Nair Kabir said, “I don’t know why the contractors could not purchase the schedule. However, it is planned to accept and lease out to the person who purchased on the first day of submission of tenders, as it is higher than last year’s market price as per rules.
