BNP’s march to Tangail on ten-point demand

Tarek Rahman Tangail: As part of the central program, Porabari Union BNP held a march under police blockade to demand 10 points including the release of Begum Khaleda Zia and activists. On Saturday (February 11) morning, a padayatra program was held in Paniyabanda area of Porabari Union of Tangail Sadar Upazila. Former Vice President of District BNP Ataur Rahman Jinnah, Porabari Union BNP President Aminur Sarkar and General Secretary Abdul Barek gave brief speeches during the march. Former Joint General Secretary of District BNP Khandkar Anisur Rahman, Convener of District Weaver Party Md. Shah Alam, Sadar Upazila BNP Joint Secretary Aminul Islam Amin, Office Secretary Shubhankar Pal Liton, District Volunteers Dal Vice President Ripon Chowdhury, Sadar Upazila BNP Vice President Aminur Rahman Liton, Joint Secretary Tofazzal Hossain and Shabar Chhatra Dal Senior Joint Convenor Shamim Mia and others. Note that the 10-point demands of BNP are that the price of daily necessities including rice, dal, oil, flour, salt, sugar should be reduced. The price of electricity, gas, LPG gas should be reduced, load shedding should be stopped and uninterrupted supply of electricity and gas should be done. Fair price of agricultural products should be paid and prices of agricultural inputs should be reduced. Workers should be paid fair wages and corruption and looting should be stopped. Anti-democracy and anti-people government should resign. Illegal parliament should be abolished. Elections should be held under a non-partisan, neutral caretaker government. Want to vote by hand, on paper ballot paper, for your preferred candidate and brand. All leaders and activists arrested in false cases including national leader Begum Khaleda Zia and national hero Tarek Rahman should be released. Fascist government must resign to restore democracy.
