The birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children’s Day were celebrated by the initiative of Barura Upazila Kishore Kishori Club of Comilla. On Friday, March 17, at 10 a.m. in cooperation with the Barura Upazila Women’s Affairs Directorate, under the chairmanship of Upazila Nirbahi Officer Acting Md. Mehedi Hasan, a wreath was placed at the Upazila Bangabandhu Mural at 9:30 a.m., while the chief guest was Upazila Parishad Chairman ANM Mainul Islam. After placing the wreath, the colorful procession went out and after circling the various roads of the city, it again went to the Upazila Parishad campus and ended. Upazila Agriculture Officer Md. Nazrul Islam, President of Upazila Press Club and representative journalist of Daily Zayzaydin newspaper Md. Masud Majumdar, brave freedom fighter Md. Abdul Mannan spoke at the function under the direction of Upazila Women’s Affairs Officer Afroza Begum at 10 am. Journalist Md Sharif Uddin, Gender Promoter of Barura Upazila Kishore Kishori Club Establishment Project, Hriday Bhowmik, Payar Ahmed, Shakila Zaman, recitation teacher of Barura Municipality Kishore Kishori Club and teachers of various unions were present at the time. Members of Barura Municipality Kishore Kishori Club, Barura Shilmuri North Union Kishore Kishori Club, Shilmuri D Union Kishore Kishori Club, Bhabanipur Union Kishore Kishori Club, Shakpur Union Kishore Kishori Club and other educational institutions were present on the occasion. In the event, prizes and certificates were distributed among the participants in various events of the cultural competition. At the end, the ceremony ended with the cutting of the cake.
