The incident took place at the house of Jaikamta Ali Ashraf Sardar No. 10 North Shilmuri of Barura Upazila of Comilla on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at approximately 2.30 PM. In this regard, Kamal Hossain filed a complaint in Barura police station. of which SDR No- 597/23. According to the complaint and local sources, Humayun Kabir (75), the son of the deceased Haji Ali Ashraf Sardar, was responsible for deeding the 12th century land to his son Kamal Hussain (48), his brothers Jalal Hussain (45), Faruk Hossain (35) and Jalal Hussain. Hussain’s son Md Zahid and his wife Nargis Begum and Farooq Hussain’s wife Maryam Bibi started enmity over the 12th century land grant. At one point, Humayun Kabir could not bear the torture of his two sons Jalal Hossain and Faruk Hossain and filed a complaint in the office of Barura Upazila Nirbahi Officer on 27th March 2023. Enraged after filing a complaint, Kamal Hossain’s younger brothers, Jalal Hossain and Faruk Hossain, attacked and injured him on Tuesday, March 28, with the intention of killing them. The victim Md. Kamal Hossain said that 2-3 months ago, my father gave me the 12th century land deed. After that they used to have various problems with me and threatened to return the documents and beat me up. The victim Khorsheda Begum said that during the incident, when I came to run away from my husband from their beating, they also beat me and broke the fingers of my right hand, hit my knee and waist and took a heavy gold chain from my neck. When asked about the complaint, SI Murtaza of Barura Police Station said that I have gone to the spot and the incident occurred due to a land dispute. I will talk to my superior officer and take legal action.
