Bangladesh girls’ team beat Macau girls’ team 2-1 on day four of the ongoing ITF World Junior Tennis Championships in Colombo, sanctioned by the International Tennis Federation and managed by the Sri Lankan Tennis Association. In the first match of the girls’ singles, Sumaiya Akhter of Bangladesh defeated Ima Young of Macau 6-0, 6-0. In the other singles, Bangladesh’s Humaira Haider Zara was defeated by Macao’s Hong O 6-4, 5-7, 5-7. As a result, the Macau girls’ team returned to a 1-1 draw. In the doubles game, Bangladesh’s Sumaiya-Zara pair defeated Macao’s Ima-Hong pair 6-2, 6-3. Bangladesh girls team won the match 2-1 against Macao. Bangladesh boys team will face Mongolia and girls team Kyrgyzstan on Friday.
