2 tourists robbed of everything by robbery at Cox’s Bazar beach

District Detective (DB) Police has arrested 5 people in Cox’s Bazar city for stabbing two tourists and robbing them of their mobile phone and cash. A knife used in the robbery, a motorcycle and a stolen mobile set were recovered from them. The arrested robbers are Ashraf Uddin Arif (19), son of Belal Uddin Belal of Ward No. 10 North Baharchhara area of Cox’s Bazar, a resident of Khamar Para area of Choufaldandi Union in Sadar. Irfan Fardin Prakash Irfan Mohammad (20) son of Md Farid Prakash Kala Farid of Tekpara Sikdar Mahal area, Tasnimul Hasan Nabil (21) son of MA Badsha of Madhya Baharchhara area, Md Saeed (20) son of Md Ghiyas and Abrar Uddin son of Md Nashir Uddin ( 19). They were arrested last Saturday (March 18) in the early hours of the night. On March 19, the father of the victim Shubo Dey filed a statement at the Sadar Police Station about the robbery incident. He is the son of Gopal Chandra of Manoharkandi Binchupur area of Chandpur district. According to sources, a group of about 90 people came to Cox’s Bazar on behalf of Suapur Union University Students Forum of Dhaka Dhamrai Upazila on March 16. Shubo Dey and Mohammad Atiq Hasan went for a walk through the streets of Cox’s Bazar Cultural Center around 8:30 pm on March 18. At that time, 5 robbers along with two motorcycles blocked their way. At one point, the robbers beat and stabbed them and took away two mobile sets and some cash and fled quickly. Two injured tourists are currently undergoing treatment at Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital. Officer-in-charge of Sadar Model Police Station OC Md. Rafiqul Islam said that legal action has been taken against the arrested robbers.
