On Tuesday 13 August 2024, an exchange meeting of Editors’ Forum leaders was held with Home Advisor Brigadier General (Retd.) M Sakhawat Hossain at the office of the Home Advisor of the Interim Government at the Secretariat.
The meeting was attended by Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury Editor of Dainik Amar Bangla and President of Bangladesh Editors Forum,, General Secretary Md.Omar Faruk Jalal Editor of The Daily Present Times, Senior Journalist Shamshul Haque Durrani, Editor of Dainik Nowroz Patrika Fazlur Rahman Zulfikar, Editor of Dainik Diner Alo, Deputy – Editor Abu Fatah Mohammad Qutb Uddin of Dainik Amar Bangla Patrika., senior journalist Mushfiqur Rahman etc.
In the meeting, M Sakhawat Hossain said that after the meeting with the top leaders and activists of the Bangladesh National Hindu Mahazot in the meeting room of the Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday, August 12, Interim Government Home Affairs Adviser M Sakhawat Hossain advised the Awami League to organize the party without creating a ‘mess’. He also told Sheikh Hasina, who fled to India, that there is no point in making a mess, there will be no benefit in making a mess. It will only make people angrier.”
After such a statement by the Home Advisor, the leaders and workers of BNP and its affiliated organizations held protests in different parts of the country. Dhaka University anti-discrimination student movement coordinator Hasnat Abdullah said in the gathering organized at the foot of the Raju sculpture, I want to warn about the rehabilitation of the murderers, just as we removed the dictatorship from power, it will not take time to bring down those who are trying to rehabilitate the dictatorship.
