A stakeholder meeting was held with public representatives, administration, social workers, journalists and customers to manage gas distribution, collect outstanding bills and prevent illegal connections in the Laksam, Lalmai and Barura areas under the jurisdiction of the office, organized by the Laksam sub-branch of the Bakhrabad Gas Distribution Company.
On Wednesday (May 21), at noon, a stakeholder meeting was held at the local Chinese restaurant, Agamon Food Park, with Bakhrabad Gas Distribution Company Secretary Md. Enamul Karim Chowdhury in the chair, and GM Engineer of Marketing Department Mortuza Rahman Khan was present as the chief guest. DGM Engineer of Sales Department Md. Mahmuduzzaman, Information Officer Md. Sakhawat Hossain, Laksam Sub-Branch In-Charge Engineer Maruf Hasan, Laksam Upazila ICT Officer Kazi Arefina Wahid, Laksam Fire Service Officer Manjurul Islam, among others, were present as special guests.
The guests invited to the meeting said that all customers must use gas in accordance with the relevant laws. If any customer uses gas illegally outside the approved connection, strict action will be taken. As such, we are not able to distribute gas according to the customer’s needs. All conscious citizens in the society must come forward to prevent illegal connections.
Later, various questions from social workers, administration, journalists, and customers were answered and discussions were held to increase public awareness about the Right to Information Act and various issues.
