Awami League will hold a large-scale rally in the capital Dhaka on December 10.
On the occasion of Human Rights Day, Dhaka Metropolitan South Awami League has said that it will organize this rally at the south gate of Baitul Mukarram Mosque.
This will be the Awami League’s first rally in Dhaka after announcing the schedule on January 7 as polling day. By boycotting the vote, BNP and like-minded parties are staging hartals and blockades as part of a one-phase movement. And the Awami League and its partners, the Jatiya Party and other parties have started preparing for the elections.
The rally has been called to demand justice for the BNP-Jamaat arson and petrol bomb attackers. The Dhaka South Awami League said in a press release that the assembly will demand speedy justice on behalf of the families of the victims and the injured.
In a press release signed by Metropolitan South Awami League office secretary Riaz Uddin Riaz on Saturday night, it was informed that Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader and other central leaders will attend the rally as chief guests.
According to the notification, this rally has been organized on the occasion of Human Rights Day on December 10 at 3 pm.
On this day in 2022, BNP called for a rally in Naya Paltan. A lot of tension was created in politics around that program of the party. BNP later held a rally at Golap Bagh in Sayedabad after not getting permission to hold a rally at Naya Paltan.
Metropolitan Awami League leaders said that to make the rally a success, instructions have already been given orally to the ward-station level leaders of Dhaka metropolis to prepare.
Apart from participating in the rally, Awami League’s Trinamool will be vigilant on the main roads and entrances of the capital on this day. The leaders and activists will stand in front of the two bridges on the Jatrabari, Uttara and Buriganga rivers, the entrance to Dhaka.
