Police arrested Md. Sirajul Islam Bhatri, Ward No. 6 of Dhaka South City Corporation and Awami League leader, from Paragon Hotel and Resort in Srimangal today on September 14 in a joint operation. He is one of the accused in the case of assault on students during the last anti-discrimination student movement. He is the son of deceased Kofil Uddin Bhatri of 142, South Mugdapara, Mugda Police Station.
When asked about this, the officer-in-charge of Srimangal police station admitted the truth of the arrest and said that the police conducted the operation. Later, the Joint Force was informed.
