Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today urged the fresh BCS cadres to utilize their talent and innovative energy to build a developed, prosperous and smart Bangladesh by 2041. He said, “I want the new officials to take the country forward by using their talent and innovative energy more effectively to transform the country into a developed, prosperous and smart Bangladesh.” Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said this while addressing the chief guest at the certificate distribution and closing ceremony of the 74th basic training course of BCS officers at the Shapla auditorium of her office (PMO). Referring to the situation in Bangladesh 14 years ago, the Prime Minister said that there has been a great change in the development of the country in the last 14 years. He urged the youth to move the country forward by maintaining the trend of change. The Prime Minister said that the only goal of his government is to make Bangladesh a developed and prosperous country by 2041 and ensure a better and better life for the countrymen. Terming the new BCS cadres as soldiers of 2041, he said that Bangladesh will be made a smart country by 2041. Today’s officers will be tomorrow’s soldiers. He said, you have to work for the implementation of Delta Plan-2100 made by the government. The government has already started implementing it to protect Bangladesh from the adverse effects of climate change. “You have to remember that we always have to move forward,” he said.
Bangladesh was once neglected by foreign countries. Due to the timely action of his government, Bangladesh has now emerged as a development role model on the world stage. Noting that the world is going through an economic recession due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine war, sanctions and counter-sanctions, the Prime Minister reiterated his call to the countrymen to be frugal in electricity, water and gas consumption. He urged everyone to become thrifty and frugal, saying prices of everything, including essentials, have skyrocketed worldwide and there is no guarantee when the war will end. At this time, the Prime Minister emphasized on increasing production. He said, we have to focus on increasing production. We are trying our best to deal with the situation. The Prime Minister urged the new officials to work sincerely for the welfare of the country and people. He urged the youth to follow the ideals of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the spirit of the liberation war in running the state. He also urged the new officials to work towards the dream of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to build a country free from hunger and poverty as well as to accelerate the development work to ensure the overall development of the country. Sheikh Hasina said, Awami League is running the country with Bangabandhu’s goals in front. He (Bangabandhu) considered himself a servant of the people. But the illegal power grabbers came to power and destroyed everything. The head of the government said that when military rulers seize power, corruption increases. Because they are not accountable to the people. We are elected by people’s vote, so we are working for public welfare. We have adopted a policy of purity against corruption. Prosperity and good governance of the country is our goal. As part of the initiative to give people a better life, he said, his government is implementing the Asharyan scheme to provide houses to every landless and homeless person. He said that his government is taking steps to ensure that not a single person remains homeless and landless across the country. The Prime Minister thanked the government officials for working wholeheartedly in the implementation of the housing project. Minister of State for Public Administration Farhad Hossain, Senior Secretary of the Ministry Mohammad Mezbah Uddin Chowdhury and Rector of Bangladesh Public Administration Training Center (BPATC) also spoke on the occasion.
