There have been allegations of sexual abuse/rape of several children students against the Muhtamim and the teacher of Madrasa in Gazaria, Munshiganj. Last Thursday day-night, 4 children students of Najerana Division of Bara Bhaterchar Markazul Uloom Madrasa of Tengarchar Union of Gazaria Upazila of Munshiganj have been accused of molesting for a long time.Madrasah Muhtamim Hafez Md. Shafi Uddin (47) and director Abu Taher against it. When the matter came to light, the accused teachers ran away from the madrasa under the pressure of the parents. When the victim’s family disclosed the incident last Saturday morning, Madrasa Muhtamim Md. Shafi Uddin and teacher Abu Taher requested the victims not to exaggerate the matter by coming to their home.
The parents and locals of the victim students said,On the pretext of keeping mobile phones with them, the resident 8-10 students of Ta’leemul Quran madrasa were woken up by the director of the madrasa Md. Shafi Uddin and teacher Abu Taher at night and forced into his office and private room. When the children later went home and refused to return to the madrasa, Balatkar’s story became known. Later, several guardians admitted the resident students of the madrasa to other madrasas. However, the locals complain,Madrasah Muhtamim Shafiuddin along with Abu Taher used to do this immoral act to the children students constantly. However, Madrasa director Md. Shafi Uddin and teacher Abu Taher could not be found in the Madrasa. Locals of the area say that the accused teacher has fled. The residential section of madrasas should be closed soon otherwise such immoral acts will continue to happen. Suman Mia, the father of a student, complained and said that he was greedyMaulana raped at least 15 children, including his 10-year-old son. I want him punished. Muhtamim Md. Shafiuddin and Abu Taher of the said Madrasa were not found in the Madrasa and at home when they came to know about the allegations. Even after several attempts to contact the phone, the phone is turned off. Officer-in-charge of Ghazaria police station, Molla Soeb Ali, confirmed the truth of the incident and said, “I have heard the matter.” The incident happened a few days ago. HoweverNo written complaint of rape has been received so far. If a written complaint is received, action will be taken subject to investigation.
