 In Naogaon’s Manda Upazila, Bishnupur Union’s Shaburbari Karnabhag area, the trees of the government road were cut down by the influential people of the area. Residents of the area filed a written complaint on 13-12-22 with the Manda Upazila Executive Officer regarding the cutting of trees.
Executive officer Abu Bakkar Siddique gave assurances in view of the complaint. Due to the transfer of Manda Upazila Nirbahi Officer, the members of the active circle disobeyed the instructions of the Upazila Nirbahi Officer and cut 13 trees again on 10-06-22. At 12 noon today, the residents of Manda upazila executive officer Laila Anjuman Banu again filed a written complaint for redressal. According to the source of the complaint, some enterprising local people have been maintaining a committee by planting about 2000 mahogany eucalyptus trees in the village of No. 14 Bishnupur UP Soharbari on the government private property plot No. 409,557,461 which is used as a public road. As the trees are big, some people in the village plan to cut and sell on their own initiative and cut some trees on 10/12/22. Then the villager’s barrier left the cut tree in the mouth. He complained to Upazila Nirbahi Officer Abu Bakkar Siddique on 13/12/22, seeking remedy for tree cutting. Due to the transfer of upazila executive officer, they again cut 11 trees on 10/06/22, the estimated value of which is 1,50,000/ Taka. As the executive officer instructed the local chairman to investigate the matter and take necessary measures, when the matter was informed to the chairman, the village police along with the members seized the tree. 1 led the cutting of trees. Chairman SM Azam said that earlier there was a ban on cutting trees. After receiving the news of cutting trees, I immediately informed the Manda Executive Officer. I will implement the decision that he gives. When contacted Ujjal and Arvind said, we cut trees for the temple work as per the decision of the tree committee, we stopped the work due to the chairman’s objection. I kept the cut trees there. However, he admitted that there was no permission from the administration.
Manda Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Laila Anjuman Banu said, I have received a complaint in this regard. Necessary action will be taken after investigation.
