The police recovered the body of an unidentified person (40) who was floating in Teesta river in Lalmonirhat Aditmari upazila.
On Monday (July 15) afternoon, the police recovered the body from the grass in the middle of the Solidi Spar Dam area of ​​Mahishkhocha Union of the upazila.
Police and locals said that when the water level of Teesta receded in the middle of Solidi Spar Dam-2 area of ​​Upazila on the left bank of Teesta River, a dead body was stuck there. Seeing the body, the locals informed the police. Later, the police recovered the body and sent it to Lalmonirhat Sadar Hospital morgue.
The corpse had a watch on its hand and a full beard on its face but was not wearing any clothes. However, due to being in water for a long time, the body rotted. Due to this, it was not possible to identify the body. However, locals believe that the body has floated upstream.
Aditmari Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mahmud Un Nabi said that none of the locals could identify the identity of the body. Efforts are on to identify him.
