Interim Government Legal Adviser Professor Dr. Asif Nazrul said that the conspiracy of those who created chaos in the secretariat under the umbrella of Ansar will not succeed. Action will be taken against them according to the existing law.

On Monday (August 26), he said this to reporters while visiting the injured along with Hasnat Abdullah, one of the coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement. Meanwhile, leaders of various political parties including the advisers of the interim government came to see the injured in this clash.

Meanwhile, Asif Nazrul also said that there could have been a dire situation in the secretariat on Monday. Our students coped with considerable patience. Those who occupied the secretariat in the guise of Ansar, had no intention of making demands. The students are still awake. None of the plans of these evil forces will materialize.

Education and Planning Advisor Wahid Uddin Mahmud said that the Dhaka Medical Hospital authorities are doing a great job in treating the injured. They are working day and night to ensure the treatment of injured students.

Many students were injured in the clash between Ansar and students yesterday, five of them are hospitalized. Two of them are in critical condition and are not in a condition to speak.

He said that some of those who were injured during the agitation earlier also got eye injuries. Even one eye was completely destroyed. We have no words to comfort them.

Hospital staff and nurses are working around the clock to treat the injured. It is a time of mass awakening, where everyone is working tirelessly for the wounded in the spirit of patriotism. But there is a limit to their capabilities. Those who lost an eye or a leg in the movement, should be given long-term treatment.

Many of our foreign partners have already come forward to help. They said, we will help as much as we can.

Director of Dhaka Medical College Hospital Brig. General Asaduzzaman said that 60 people were treated here in the clash between Ansar and students in the secretariat. Five of them have been admitted. The condition of both is critical. He told this to reporters in the administrative block of Dhaka Medical College Hospital at noon.

He also said that nearly 2000 people received medical treatment at Dhaka Medical College during the anti-discrimination student movement. Out of them 800 were admitted. At present, 100 people are under treatment in the hospital with bullet injuries. Besides, 9 people are in intensive care unit (ICU).

He also said that the condition of those who are in ICU is critical. The authorities will make the treatment completely free for those who are under treatment in the hospital. Many medicines are not supplied by the government. We have also provided them with medical care. A dedicated separate ward has been set up for the injured in DMK Hospital so that they receive maximum medical care.

He said, I would like to tell everyone that you should not overcrowd inside the hospital and there should be an attendant with the patients. Because the injured can be infected with various germs. We are giving them medical care with our utmost efforts. All of you will help us.
