On 23/01/2023, the victim was married to the accused Md. Habib Molla (24). Since the marriage, the accused Habib Molla and other co-accused began physically and mentally abusing the victim. On 01/04/2024, they demanded a dowry of 10 lakh BDT from the victim and her family. When the victim and her family refused to pay, the accused physically assaulted her and, in a premeditated and deceitful manner, forcibly caused the abortion of her 4-month-old fetus. As a result of this, the victim’s physical condition deteriorated, and she had to receive medical treatment. Subsequently, the victim’s mother filed a complaint at Pangsha Police Station in Rajbari District. A case was filed under Case No. 06, dated 06/05/2025, under Section 11(g)/30 of the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act, 2000 (Amended 2003), along with Section 313 of the Penal Code, 1860.Based on the request of the investigating officer, an operational team of RAB-10 conducted a raid today, 16/05/2025, at approximately 16:00 hours, based on secret information and with the help of technology. The raid was carried out in the Bangladesh Hat area under Kalukhali Police Station in Rajbari District, where the accused Md. Habib Molla (24), son of Md. Hachen Ali, of village Bara Choubaria, P.S. Pangsha, District Rajbari, was arrested.
The arrested accused has been handed over to the concerned police station.
