Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested a fugitive accused who was sentenced to life in the case of murder of medical technologist Daulatuzzaman Joy (32) in Begumganj of Noakhali. Arrested. Riaz (25) is the son of Ismail from Hajipur area of the upazila. The accused was handed over to the Noakhali Chief Judicial Magistrate’s Court yesterday afternoon (July 11). Earlier, he was arrested from Nateshwar village of Sonaimuri upazila of the district around 2.30 am on Monday. Company commander of Noakhali camp of CPC-3 of RAB-11 Lt. Commander Mahmudul Hasan confirmed this information. He said that on the evening of May 13, 2020, Chaumuhni Life Care Hospital Lab Technician Joy. Three people along with Riaz called in Hajipur area of Choumuhani Municipality. After that, he was cut on his head and ears and left behind. He later died on May 15 evening while undergoing treatment at the 250-bed Noakhali General Hospital. According to RAB, the arrested accused has been handed over to Begumganj Model Police Station. Sohrab Hossain, the other accused who was sentenced to life in this case on July 3, was arrested and sent to jail.
