On 13/05/2025 at approximately 19:00 hours, Sanjay Kumar Pal (38), a motorcycle parts businessman from Faridpur, went to a location called Bhesur Mor under Sujanagar Police Station in Pabna District for business purposes. Upon his arrival, the accused Md. Wahed Molla (45), along with other accomplices, abducted the victim and took him to Benapole in a microbus. They demanded a ransom of BDT 1,550,000 (one million five hundred fifty thousand taka). When the victim expressed his inability to pay the amount, he was taken to the house of Wahed Molla and was tied up with iron chains.
Unable to contact her husband, the victim’s wife, Lipi Rani Pal (33), filed a missing person’s report at Boalmari Police Station. The General Diary (GD) was recorded as GD No. 590, dated 13/05/2025. Based on this, and with the aim of rescuing the missing victim, on 15/05/2025 at approximately 19:30 hours, RAB conducted a raid based on secret information and technological assistance, in cooperation with RAB-12. During the operation, the victim Sanjay Kumar Pal was rescued and the abductor Md. Wahed Molla (45) was arrested from the Jorpukuria Majhpara area under Sujanagar Police Station in Pabna District.
Following the victim’s formal complaint, a case was filed at Sujanagar Police Station, Pabna, under Case No. 12, dated 16/05/2025, under Sections 365/343/385 of the Penal Code, 1860. Legal action has been taken.
