A youth named Abdus Sattar (35) was hacked to death in a clash over a trivial incident in Muradnagar Upazila of Comilla. Two people were injured in this incident.
The incident took place at Kadmatoli area of ​​Ramchandrapur South Union of the upazila at 7 pm on Tuesday (May 2).
The deceased is the son of deceased Ismail Mia of Kanthaliakanda village of Ramchandrapur North Union of Bangra Bazar Police Station of Abdus Sattar Upazila.
The injured are Sohan (18) son of Kamal Mia of Kanthaliakanda village of the upazila and Tanveer (30) son of deceased Amin Mia of the same village.
According to local and police sources, two days ago Karim of Kadmatoli village had a discussion with his son Yunuch with Nazrul of the same village. At around 7 pm on Tuesday night, people from both sides clashed at one stage of the dispute between the two. At that time Yunush’s men seriously injured Abdus Sattar. Later the locals rescued him and took him to Muradnagar Upazila Health Complex where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
In this regard, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bangra Bazar Police Station Riaz Uddin Chowdhury said that after receiving the information, the body of the deceased was recovered and sent to Comilla Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. At present the situation in the area is calm. One of Karim’s grandsons suspected of involvement in the incident has been detained for questioning and the case is being prepared.
