There have been several explosions across the capital of Ukraine, Kiev. At least seven explosions were reported on Monday (August 26) morning local time. Alerts are already in place across Ukraine due to continued airstrikes by Russian forces. News from AFP.
Russia has been invading Ukraine for almost three years. On Monday morning, Moscow launched a series of attacks in different parts of Kiev.
The governors of the southern regions of the cities of Odessa and Zaporizhia and the northern region of Kharkiv said in a telegram that explosions had occurred in the region and urged people to evacuate.
Mayor of the city Igor Polishchuk said that an apartment building was damaged in the attack of the enemy in the city of Lutsk. He also confirmed that one person was killed there.
Meanwhile, Governor Philip Pronin said five people were injured in an attack on a commercial building in the Poltava region.
Earlier on Sunday, at least 18 people were killed and 37 others injured in Russian missile and drone attacks in Ukraine’s Chernihiv, Sami, Kharkiv and Donetsk regions.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukrainian forces have entered Russia’s Kursk region up to three kilometers. He also claimed that control of two more settlements has been taken there.
