Jhalkathi Sadar Hospital Medical Officer Jinnat Ara Mehreen has been accused of misconduct, arbitrariness, mistreatment of patients and diagnostic trade. Upazila Although he is posted in the health complex, he continues his medical business sitting in Sadar Hospital outside Nimoy.
According to the complaints and inquiries received from various sources, Medical Officer Jinnat Ara Mehreen was posted at Rajapur Upazila Health Complex of the district as a resident of Jhalkathi district. But from the beginning of joining, he took charge of Jhalkathi Sadar Hospital. Allegedly, Nimoy is taking this advantage outside of Nimoy. But he did not stop there. Private business is being continued sitting in Sadar Hospital. They are taking the commission money by sending the patients outside for mass examination. Complaints of misbehaving with patients against this ill-tempered doctor are on everyone’s lips. There are also allegations of wrong treatment. The civil society representatives who came to the hospital including district judge court employees, policemen, journalists are also extremely dissatisfied with the doctor’s behavior. When Medical Officer Jinnat called Ara Mehreen’s number regarding these complaints, her husband picked up the phone and asked to speak to him. He said, ‘One should not talk about wrong treatment. Any specialist doctor should say and be in writing and he is allowed to practice as a doctor in Jhalkathi Sadar Hospital.’
Jhalkathi Sadar Hospital Supervising Doctor Shamim Ahmed said, I have heard some complaints from the new recruits. I am looking into these matters. And all doctors have been warned about unnecessary examination of patients. I have received a complaint by Md Khairul Islam, Record Assistant of Additional District Judge Adar, regarding the arrest of Dr. Jinnat Ara Mehreen. An inquiry committee of 3 members has been formed in this regard. Meanwhile, a complaint letter signed by Additional District and Sessions Judge Md. Masudur Rahman has been submitted to the supervisor of Jhalkathi Sadar Hospital. In the letter, on the basis of the complaint filed by Md. Khairul Islam, record assistant of the court against doctor Jinnat Ara Mehreen working in Jhalkathi Sadar Hospital, it is requested to investigate the written complaint regarding professional negligence and wrong treatment and take appropriate action and inform the court.
