Fifteen-and-a-half years of authoritarian Awami rule came to an end in the context of the quota reform movement led by the anti-discrimination student movement, and an interim government is currently running the state. Through this movement, the students not only wanted a change of government, they wanted state reform and a radical change in political culture. We have been agitating for political reforms for a long time on behalf of Sujan. After the formation of the interim government, we held a press conference on August 11, 2024, and we raised the demand for reforms in the state to the interim government. Today, we have raised our voices across the country to build a democratic-non-sectarian and humane state through state reform.

From today’s human bond, we call on all concerned including the interim government.

Set up a rapid investigation committee under the auspices of the United Nations to identify those involved in killings, violence, looting etc.

Bring those involved in killings and violence to justice expeditiously. Make a list of those killed in the movement and help the families concerned and give compensation.
Arrange for proper treatment and rehabilitation of the injured.

Identify and prosecute those involved in attacks on minority communities.

Religion is to everyone’s country.

Build social resistance against communal violence.

Ban the use of religion and communal politics in politics.

Spread the message of extreme tolerance and the spirit of unity in diversity.

We want a constitution of non-sectarian character.

Political consensus to amend the Constitution is against the democratic spirit of the Constitution, reform Article 70 and fix the term limit for the post of Prime Minister.

De-partisanship of all constitutional and statutory institutions including public administration and law enforcement.

Want proportional representation based elections.

‘Reintroduce the no-vote rule.

We want local government elections on a non-partisan basis

Prohibit MPs from interfering in local government activities,

Increase reserved seats for women to one-third and provide for direct elections.

Publish the list of debtors.

The Cyber ​​Security Act ensures freedom of the media, including repealing restrictive clauses.

Reorganize the Election Commission with honest, competent and neutral people.

We want proper implementation of zero tolerance policy against corruption and prosecution of corrupt people in special tribunals.
To develop the leadership of the youth, take the initiative of regularly electing students’ councils in colleges and universities.

Stop disappearances, murders and extrajudicial killings.
