Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has left for Beijing after attending the World Economic Forum in Dalian, China.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and his wife Dr. Zubaida Rahman reached Dalian North Railway Station from Shangri-La Hotel by jeep today amid tight security.
They then left for Beijing by bullet train from the station at 1:56 pm local time.
Earlier, the Prime Minister attended the main session of the World Economic Forum (WEF) held at the Dalian International Conference Center at 10 am local time today.
Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, Guinean Prime Minister Amadou Ouri Bah, Kazakhstani Prime Minister Olgas Bektenov, South Korean Prime Minister Kim Min-seok, Mongolian Prime Minister Niamh Osorin Uchral and Montenegrin Prime Minister Milojko Spijic also participated in it.
The conference was attended by more than 1,700 representatives from politicians, businessmen, academics and the media from more than 90 countries and regions.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s participation in the World Economic Forum will, on the one hand, expand new investment and employment opportunities for Bangladesh. On the other hand, it will further enrich and strengthen national capacity by adopting best practices and experiences from different countries.
It is worth noting that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman arrived in Dalian, China last Monday. This was the second leg of his first foreign visit as Prime Minister.
Earlier, as part of his first official foreign visit after assuming office, he went to Malaysia on a two-day official visit from Dhaka on June 21.
