Touhid Hossain Sarkar : In his speech at the discussion meeting and prayer program in memory of the late Central Vice President, Mansur Rahman, Central President Advocate Atiqur Rahman said:
Today’s environment is very sad. In a short period of time, the Bangladesh Workers’ Welfare Federation has lost three dedicated leaders. The deaths of transport workers leader Saiful Islam, acting president of Sherpur district branch Shahidur Rahman Jajmia and veteran workers’ leader Mansur Rahman are irreparable losses for the organization.
He said, even at the age of 82, Mansur Rahman’s work ethic, organizational dedication and sense of responsibility were exemplary. Although there was talk of reducing his responsibilities due to age and physical illness, he never wanted to stay away from the organization. He would try to participate whenever he got news of any program and his love, trust and responsibility towards the organization remained unwavering until the end of his life. He was a successful activist of the Islamic Movement who was averse to propaganda.
He further said, “Mansur Rahman was a sincere, simple and dedicated person for the religion of Allah. The responsibility of realizing the dream he cherished of establishing an Islamic society now falls on us. The real respect for him would be to take forward the works he left unfinished.”
The President prayed for the forgiveness of the deceased’s soul and said, may Allah Almighty forgive all his sins, accept his deeds and grant him Jannatul Firdous. At the same time, he said to everyone, every believer should always be prepared for death. Because no one knows the appointed time of death. The remembrance of death motivates people to be more responsible in the path of good deeds and religion.
Moderated by the Federation’s General Secretary Laskar Md. Taslim. Also present were Vice Presidents Golam Rabbani, Kabir Ahmed, Mujibur Rahman Bhuiyan,
Deputy General Secretary Advocate Alamgir Hossain, Abdus Salam, Mohibullah, and the deceased’s son, son-in-law and family members
