Laksam Correspondent: Shajahan Majumder, a businessman and proprietor of Majumder Dental Care in Paschimgaon area of ​​Laksam upazila of Comilla, has strongly protested against the allegations made against him and his son at a recent press conference. He has called these allegations completely baseless, misleading and planned propaganda and announced to take legal action against those concerned.
Reading out a written statement at a press conference on Sunday, Shajahan Majumder said that there are clear inconsistencies between the statements made by the complainant Farhana Mahmuda Jharna at different times, the General Diary (GD) filed with the police station and the allegations filed in the court. He commented that the real truth will be revealed if these issues are investigated.
He said that in the General Diary filed with Laksam police station on April 22, 2026, it was mentioned that the girl concerned went out to buy mosquito coils and did not return home. But later, serious allegations like kidnapping, rape and illegal pregnancy were raised in a press conference, which he claimed contradicted the previous information.
According to Shajahan Majumder, a CCTV footage related to the incident is stored in a local diagnostic center. He also claimed that the young woman concerned is seen leaving the institution with her younger sister in the footage.
In addition, the complaint filed in the court states that the girl was kidnapped on her way to Al-Amin Institute. However, according to the certificate of the concerned educational institution, she was not a student of that institution, Shajahan Majumder mentioned in the press conference.
Stating that the matter is currently pending in the court, he said that he has full faith in the law and the judicial system. He expressed hope that the real incident will come to light through an impartial investigation and judicial process through the court.
Addressing the media, he said that it is important to verify the statements and documentary information of all the parties concerned before publishing or broadcasting any sensitive allegations. One-sided disclosure of information can create confusion in the public mind.
In his written statement, he further alleged that a vested interest group is carrying out propaganda to tarnish his personal reputation, family dignity and the image of his business organization. He also said that he will take necessary legal action against such activities. However, no statement was immediately received from the complainant Farhana Mahmuda Jharna in this regard. The matter is currently under investigation by the court and the concerned authorities.
