Bangladesh set Australia a target of 275 runs

Sports Desk : Half-centuries from three batters Liton Das-Tawhid Hadoy and Mosaddek Hossain helped Bangladesh set Australia a target of 275 runs to win the third and final ODI of the three-match series. Batting first in the last match of the series, the Tigers scored 274 runs for 5 wickets in 50 overs. Liton was unbeaten on 58, Hridoy 83 and Mosaddek scored an unbeaten 56 runs.

Bangladesh won the toss at the Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium and elected to bat first, losing Soumya Sarkar to the fourth ball of the innings. Soumya returned for 2 runs.

Starting well, another opener Tanjid Hasan was dismissed for 19 and acting captain Nazmul Hossain Shanto for 24 runs.

After falling for 3 wickets for 61 runs, Hridoy put on a partnership of 95 with Liton and 90 with Mosaddek to help Bangladesh post 274 runs for 5 wickets.

Hridoy was dismissed for 83 runs with 8 fours. Liton remained unbeaten on 58 and Mosaddek on 56. Liton’s innings included 4 fours and 2 sixes, while Mosaddek hit 5 fours and 1 six.

Australia’s Xavier Bartlett and Matt Renshaw took 2 wickets each.
