Mirsharai Correspondent : The traditionally famous and delicious fruit of Narsingdi, Lotkon (Burmese grape), is now being cultivated commercially in the Mirsharai upazila of Chattogram. Local farmers have hit the jackpot in their very first attempt, thanks to the favorable climate and fertile soil of the region. The bumper yield has brought wide smiles to the faces of local entrepreneurs.
​According to the local agriculture department and growers, these Lotkons are produced using completely natural methods, making them 100% toxic-free and chemical-free. Consequently, a massive demand has been created among local consumers since the fruit hit the market. Consumers no longer need to wait for the famous juicy Lotkon to be brought from Narsingdi; instead, they can purchase it fresh directly from the orchards in Mirsharai.

​Upazila agriculture officials believe that this commercial success of Lotkon cultivation in Mirsharai will add a new dimension to the local economy. They expect that Lotkon farming will expand even further across the region in the coming years
