Faruk Rahman, Satkhira : After a seven-day holiday on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Azha, import-export activities between Bangladesh and India have resumed through Bhomra Land Port in Satkhira from Monday, June 1.
All types of commercial activities at the port resumed from Monday (June 1) morning. As a result, movement of trucks carrying goods, unloading of goods, loading and unloading activities between the two countries have started normally.
Port officials said that as per the pre-determined decision, the activities were resumed from the morning after the Eid holiday. This has brought relief to traders, importers and exporters.
Import-export activities at Bhomra Land Port were closed from May 25 to May 31 on the occasion of Eid. However, during this time, the movement of passengers with valid passports and visas through the Bhomra-Ghojadanga International Immigration Checkpost was normal.
Abu Musa, general secretary of Bhomra C&F Agents Association, said that the port’s import and export activities have resumed normally since Monday morning after the Eid holiday. It is hoped that the port’s activities will be fully dynamic soon.
