Sohel Ahad : The three-day 11th annual art camp of Brahmanbaria Shishu Natyam concluded. The closing and award distribution ceremony was held at Ulchapara Maleka Saheb Ali High School in Ramrail Union of Sadar Upazila on Saturday (May 23) at 2 pm, organized by Brahmanbaria Shishu Natyam.
The program was presided over by Sadar Upazila Land Officer Nasrin and moderated by Shishu Natyam General Secretary Niaz Md. Khan Btu. Brahmanbaria Sadar and Bijoynagar Khaled Mahbub Shyamal were present as the chief guests. Tasnia Sultana Eni, Professor of Zoology Department of Brahmanbaria Government College, Mirza Ghalib, Head of History Department of Brahmanbaria Government College, Ali Azam, Senior Joint General Secretary of District BNP, and Mizanur Rahman, General Secretary of Red Crescent were present as special guests.
The chief guest said that during the fascist government, Niaz Mohammad Khan Bitu has sustained children’s theatre despite hundreds of adversities. This organization is playing an important role in the creative and cultural development of children in Brahmanbaria. He also promised to establish a children’s library for the children of Brahmanbaria.
In her speech as the president, Esland Nasrin said, “Children’s theatre has been working to develop children’s talent and creativity for a long time. Such events play a helpful role in children’s cultural practice and formation of human values.”
At the end of the program, the chief guest, Engineer Khaled Hossain Mahbub Shyamal (MP), cut a cake to celebrate the organization’s 40th anniversary.
Child artists from different parts of the district participated in the three-day art camp and showcased their talents in painting, cultural performances and creative activities. On the concluding day, prizes were distributed among all the participating students.
Also present at the event were Brahmanbaria Shishu Natyam Advisor Asadur Rahman Alamgir, Ulchapara Maleka Saheb Ali High School Headmaster Md. Selim Hossain, Shishu Natyam President Masukul Islam Masuk, Dr. Nabil and Ifrad Hossain Mahbub Sajid, local political figures, journalists, poets-literate people, cultural activists, people from different classes and professions, and guardians of child artists. The entire event was held in a festive atmosphere.
