The Ministry of Land is going to organize a ‘Land Services Fair’ nationwide every year to make land management modern, transparent and people-friendly. As a part of this, this fair will also be held in Mymensingh Division. To this end, a press conference was held at the Mymensingh Divisional Office on Sunday afternoon. It was presided over by Divisional Commissioner Farah Shammi.
He said that one of the areas of building a modern Bangladesh is to deliver people-friendly land services to the doorsteps of the public. The Ministry of Land has already taken various activities to reach the people through automation of land-related services. In order to widely publicize these activities among the public, a three-day Land Services Fair will be held from May 19 to 21.
The press conference further informed that during the three-day fair, stalls will be set up in the premises of the four Deputy Commissioners’ offices and Upazila Land Offices under Mymensingh Division or in visible places to assist service seekers. Registration related activities for online payment of land development tax and currently land development tax will be accepted completely online from the concerned stalls.
In addition, all services including receiving applications for obtaining certified copies of online ledgers and providing them immediately, supplying applications for online mouza maps through the postal department and wide publicity in this regard, holding public hearings on ongoing survey activities at the field level, taking up appeal filing and settlement activities and handing over records will be provided to the public. An officer will be deployed at the service booth to provide direct answers to various service-related queries of service recipients.
In addition, documentary on land services provided by the Ministry of Land will be disseminated and by calling the hotline number (16122) you can receive a mouza map by post, receive DCR and Khatian online, complain about land services or find out any matter related to land services. In addition, by registering on the land portal www.land.gov.bd from any place, e-namjari applications can be processed, land development tax can be paid online and all these fees will be accepted completely online.
In view of this, 35 land service support centers (LSFCs) have been established in Mymensingh district, 10 in Netrokona district, 07 in Jamalpur district, and 18 in Sherpur district of Mymensingh division. As a result, various online services such as: namma zari application, land development tax payment, mouza map or design application, assigned or abandoned property and Sairat mahal lease etc. are being accepted by paying the prescribed fee. In addition, banners, festoons, posters, etc. will be displayed in various public places including roads, highways, markets, bus stands, railway stations, parks, etc. to inform the public about service-related issues, it was informed in this press conference. Additional Divisional Commissioner John Kennedy Jambil (Revenue), Additional Divisional Commissioner (General) Azad Jahan, Deputy Director of Local Government Department Bipin Chandra Biswas, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Azim Uddin, Sadar Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Syeda Tamanna Horaira and officials of the Divisional Commissioner’s Office were present in the press conference.
