Chief Engineer of Public Works Department inspects various development projects in Pirojpur

‎​Chief Engineer of the department Md. Khalequzzaman Chowdhury inspected the progress of various important development projects being implemented under the Public Works Department (PWD) in Pirojpur. He observed these projects on-site throughout the day on Friday (May 8).

‎​During the inspection, the Chief Engineer checked the construction style and quality of various ongoing mega projects including the newly constructed 250-bed hospital building in Pirojpur. During this time, he provided necessary guidance to the concerned to ensure the sustainability and quality of the work.
‎
‎​At this time, the Chief Engineer was accompanied by Additional Chief Engineer of Public Works Department Barisal Zone Md. Khaled Hussain, Superintending Engineer of Barisal Circle Manik Lal Das, Executive Engineer of Pirojpur Public Works Department Md. Shahidul Islam and District Civil Surgeon Dr. Matiur Rahman.

‎Senior officials from various levels of the department were also present.

‎​After the inspection, the Chief Engineer met with the engineers of the Public Works Department and the hospital authorities in a view-sharing meeting at the conference room of Pirojpur District Hospital. In the meeting, he emphasized on increasing the dynamics of the project and said, “Ensuring the quality of infrastructure is essential to deliver the benefits of the government’s development activities to the doorsteps of the people. Field-level officials must complete the work within the stipulated time with transparency and dedication.”

‎​At this time, he instructed to make the hospital premises environmentally friendly by planting trees. Engineers of the Pirojpur Public Works Department informed him in detail about the technical aspects and actual progress of the ongoing projects.
‎​After the field-level inspection, the Chief Engineer planted a fruit tree and a forest tree sapling in the Pirojpur Public Works Department office premises for the purpose of environmental protection and greening. After the tree plantation, he said, “Along with sustainable development, it is important to maintain the balance of the environment. Every government office should have a planned tree plantation in the open spaces so that we can ensure a beautiful and green future.”
‎The event was attended by Chief Engineer’s Staff Officer and Executive Engineer Md. Mostafizur Rahman and Staff Officer Fariba Halim Orin, among others.
