On April 12, 2026, the Honorable Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bhutan to Bangladesh arrived at Chittagong Port. Upon arrival at Chittagong Port, Honorable Chairman Chabak, Rear Admiral S. M. Moniruzzaman, OSP, NDC, NCC, PSC welcomed the Honorable Ambassador. During this time, the Chairman informed the Honorable Ambassador about the various developments of Chittagong Port during his tenure. The Chairman happily informed that in recent times, Chittagong Port has achieved significant successes in various activities including setting records in container, cargo and ship handling, reducing the waiting time of ships to zero, ensuring maximum use of automation and achieving zero observation by the ISPS team. Honorable Ambassador Chabak was overwhelmed by the success and congratulated Honorable Chairman Chabak on behalf of the Government of Bhutan. The Honorable Ambassador expressed his sincere gratitude to the Chairman of CHBOC for his cooperation in sending containers to Bhutan using the Chittagong Port in the past. He expressed his hope that in the future, it will be possible to further accelerate Bhutan’s import-export trade activities by using the Chittagong Port.
Finally, the Honorable Ambassador and the Honorable Chairman of CHBOC expressed their hope that by increasing communication between the two countries, the relations between the two countries will be taken to a higher level in the future.
After the courtesy call, the Honorable Ambassador inspected the operational activities of the port and expressed deep satisfaction with the activities.
