Eminent educationist, former convener of the district BNP, former general secretary and member of the BNP central executive committee, Principal Alamgir Hossain, has officially taken charge as the newly appointed administrator of Pirojpur District Council. He took charge of this important responsibility at the Zilla Parishad office at 10:00 am on Tuesday (March 24). After taking charge, a special prayer and supplication was organized.
​When newly appointed Administrator Principal Alamgir Hossain arrived at the Zilla Parishad office on Tuesday morning, he was greeted with flowers by the council’s officials, employees and local leaders. After that, he formally assumed office and signed the relevant documents.
After assuming the responsibility, a brief discussion meeting and prayer meeting were held at the Zilla Parishad auditorium. All those present at the event prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul of martyred President Ziaur Rahman, the founder of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and the promoter of multi-party democracy.
Prayers were offered for the eternal peace of former BNP Chairperson and three-time former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia. Special prayers were offered for the good health and long life of BNP Chairman and current Prime Minister of Bangladesh Tarique Rahman.
The event was presided over by Pirojpur District BNP Convener Nazrul Islam Khan and was attended by District BNP Member Secretary SM Saidul Islam Kismat, former District BNP Vice President and District Judge Court PP Advocate Abul Kalam Akon, former District BNP Member Secretary Gazi Wahiduzzaman Lavlu, along with the presidents and secretaries of seven upazilas of BNP and leaders of various affiliate organizations.

In his brief speech, Principal Alamgir Hossain said, “I am grateful to the Almighty Allah. I express my gratitude to our guardian Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, who has given me the opportunity to work as a servant of Pirojpur Zilla Parishad. Insha Allah, I will dedicate myself to the development of Pirojpur with your prayers and love. The Zilla Parishad will be a place of trust for the people.”
“In this auspicious moment of restoring democracy, my goal is to bring the services of Pirojpur District Council to the doorsteps of the common people. I will work tirelessly to implement the vision of ‘state reform’ and development announced by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.”
He said he will continue to work towards transforming Pirojpur into a prosperous and developed district. He assured of giving utmost importance to the development of roads and infrastructure in particular.
He promised to make the District Council a transparent and corruption-free institution, where the common people would get services without harassment.
He also told the leaders and activists present and the public that Pirojpur desperately needs everyone’s cooperation and prayers for its overall development.
The event was attended by top district-level leaders of the local BNP and its affiliates, the Chief Executive Officer of the District Council, and representatives of various social and professional organizations.
After the discussion, the prayer was led by Pirojpur District Ulama Party President Principal Delwar Hossain Talukder.
