In Rangpur’s Mithapukur upazila, Shukurerhat market has been accused of looting by breaking the lock of the shop in the middle of the day. Tanka lives in Mamudpur of present Mithapukur upazila. On Friday (March 24, 2023), it was found that the complainant Salim Mia has been running the shop named M/s Salim Telecom for 3-4 years. As usual, Salim Mia went home to eat rice at noon. Alamgir Hossain and Tahmina Begum along with 10-12 unidentified persons broke the lock of Salim Mia’s shop with sticks, sticks and native weapons in a planned way on Monday, March 20. In this regard, the victim Salim Mia said, I sell all types of bags wholesale and retail. At the same time we deal in mobile, mobile parts, development, cash, way and rocket mobile agent banking. Due to previous enmity, Alamgir Hossain and Tahmina Begum along with their men broke the lock of my shop in the afternoon and took cash of six lakh taka, Richard card fifty thousand, android mobile and button phone two lakh taka. A nearby shopkeeper called me and said that their people including Alamgir Hossain and Tahmina Begum came to my shop with sticks, spears, arrows, bows, balls, broke the lock, entered the shop and left with everything. I came from home and saw them breaking the lock of the shop and looting everything and calling me from different mobile phones threatening to kill me. That’s why I went to the police station and filed a complaint seeking compensation for my business and security of life. Eyewitnesses Ripon Miah, Hasanur Miah, Saidul Miah said that Alamgir Hossain and Tahmina Begum along with 10-12 unknown persons broke the lock of Selim Miah’s shop and looted it on Monday, March 20. Mithapukur Police Station Investigation Officer Md Noor Alam said that SI Fazlu went to investigate. Talking to him, I came to know that some people went there with sticks, sticks, native weapons and broke the lock of the shop. Investigation is ongoing whether other incidents including looting have taken place.
