Expressing excitement over the huge response from international buyers on the first day of the fair, Jihan Plastic Industries General Manager S.M. Nahidul Islam said, “This fair is an open platform for us where we get the opportunity to directly connect with international sourcing agents and potential buyers. We have already received double the orders this year compared to last year. Even on the opening day of the fair, we received a large export order from an Asian country, which is a matter of great pride for us and the entire country.”
He added that the company is currently exporting products regularly to Italy, Saudi Arabia and Sri Lanka. Their export activities to the United States (USA) and the United Kingdom (UK) are going to start from next month.
Jihan Plastic Industries gives utmost importance to the quality of their products and the health safety of children. Mr. Nahidul Islam said, “Our toys are tested by the international standard Intertek or SGS laboratory. They are completely biodegradable and chemical-free, so there is no risk to the health of children. About 50 thousand pieces of our truck called ‘Camione Confisoni’ have been exported to Italy, which is customized according to the needs of buyers.”
Regarding the future of the domestic toy industry, he said, “If backward linkages can be developed in the toy sector like the garment industry, then we can compete with China or Vietnam and lead the global market. For this, the government’s policy cooperation and easy availability of raw materials are absolutely necessary. This will open new doors for a large amount of foreign currency or remittances to the country.”
